Privacy Policy
How Young Jain Professionals collects, uses, and protects your information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the YJP Convention 2026 website and register for the Convention, and how we use and protect it. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account and register for the Convention, including:
- ·Identity and contact details — name, email address, phone number, and city/region.
- ·Profile information — such as profession, organization, Jain center affiliation, and other details you choose to add.
- ·Registration details — ticket tier, T-shirt size, session preferences, dietary or accessibility needs, roommate requests, and emergency contact information.
- ·Payment information — processed by our payment processor; we receive confirmation and limited transaction metadata, not full card numbers.
- ·Technical data — basic information such as device and browser type collected automatically when you use the site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- ·Process your registration, payment, and check-in.
- ·Communicate with you about your registration, the Convention schedule, and important updates.
- ·Plan logistics such as catering, seating, accommodations, and accessibility.
- ·Respond to your inquiries and provide support.
- ·Maintain the safety and security of attendees and the event.
- ·Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Your card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are handled in accordance with their privacy and security practices. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with: service providers who help us operate the Convention and website (for example, payment processing, hosting, and email delivery); the Convention venue and vendors where necessary for logistics; and authorities where required by law or to protect the safety of attendees.
5. Third-Party Services
This site relies on trusted third-party services, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, and hosting) and Stripe (payments). These providers process data on our behalf and under their own privacy policies. Signing in with a provider such as Google is subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to operate the Convention, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
You may access and update much of your profile information through your account. You may also request that we correct or delete your personal information, or that we stop sending you non-essential communications, by contacting us. We will respond consistent with applicable law. Note that some information may be retained where we have a legal basis or obligation to do so.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function (for example, to keep you signed in) and to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect site functionality.
10. Children's Privacy
The Convention and this website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
