Paritosh Katre is a Machine Learning Scientist at PayPal - a technologist by profession and a musician at heart. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, his professional career has been rooted in the technology industry, while music remains an equally meaningful part of his life. As a composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, Paritosh actively performs and collaborates with musicians across the SF Bay Area. Along with his father, Dr. Dinesh Katre, he has conceptualized an experimental musical project through which they have composed over 70 original songs based on the poetry of Sant Dnyaneshwar, exploring each composition through its own musical interpretation, meaning, and aesthetic. Rather than viewing technology and music as two separate pursuits, Paritosh has found surprising parallels between them. Performing and composing have influenced how he approaches creativity, collaboration, listening, improvisation, consistency, and even failure. Through his journey, Paritosh hopes to explore what happens when we allow seemingly different parts of ourselves to coexist, and how pursuing something outside our primary profession can change the way we think, work, and grow.
