Raj Sheth is a seasoned investor, entrepreneur, and real estate executive with nearly four decades of experience spanning private equity real estate acquisitions and development, hedge fund management, strategy consulting, and national sales management. As a leader in the self-storage industry for over 18 years, Raj has built a distinguished track record of value creation and disciplined investing. Under his leadership, Boardwalk Storage has become the largest Indian-owned and one of the top 50 self-storage owner/operators in the United States, managing more than $500 million in assets throughout the southeastern US. Across realized self-storage investments, Raj has achieved an average realized project-level internal rate of return (IRR) of 39% and an average equity multiple of 300% (3.0x MOIC). Prior to Boardwalk, Raj founded Insight Capital Management, a hedge fund that generated cumulative returns of 107% and beat the market every year for five years by investing in financially strong companies trading at significant discounts to intrinsic value. Raj holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois and an MBA with Honors with concentrations in Marketing and Finance from the University of Southern California. He serves on the board of the Sheth Education Foundation and is Vice Chairman for JITO Atlanta's Chapter. Raj is also a Charter Member of TiE-Atlanta, where he previously served as Treasurer, and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Self Storage Association.
