About
Dr. Faraz Harsini is a biomedical scientist, cancer researcher, published author of peer reviewed research, internationally renowned speaker, and expert in cruelty free food systems. He is the founder of Allied Scholars for Animal Protection (ASAP), a nonprofit empowering student leaders to drive real change for animals, the planet, and public health across leading U.S. universities. From pioneering cancer research in biotechnology to advancing sustainable protein at the Good Food Institute, Dr. Harsini applies his scientific expertise to some of the most urgent issues facing people and animals today. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Kindness Gold Medal and an NIH award. Dr. Harsini teaches at leading universities, including Harvard, MIT, and Yale, and has taught in Harvard and Yale Law School. He also teaches Jain studies classes at universities across the United States and speaks internationally on Jainism, Ahimsa, veganism, and animal protection. He has spoken at YJA and JAINA, emphasizing veganism as a moral urgency and duty toward protecting animals and the planet.
