Born in Bijapur, Rajasthan, Pujya Panyas Dr. Arunvijayji Maharaj has devoted his life to illuminating the path of Jain Dharma through his profound knowledge, boundless compassion, and tireless service. Taking Diksha at just 18 years of age, his deep devotion and brilliance led him to master multiple languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Sanskrit, and Prakrit, in addition to earning two doctoral degrees—a Ph.D. in Comparative Religions and a Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) from Delhi University. He pursued advanced study of the 45 Jain Agams, ultimately attaining complete mastery and being conferred the honored title of Panyas (Pandit). Pujya Arunvijayji Maharaj has organized numerous national and international conferences for research scholars in multiple languages, including Sanskrit, and has authored over 50 books and many research papers, all of which are freely accessible through the JAINA eLibrary. Beyond his lifelong pursuit of knowledge, Pujya Panyas Dr. Arunvijayji Maharaj has rendered invaluable service to Jain Dharma by revitalizing sacred tirths such as Hathundi and by establishing the Veeralayam Jain Tirth in Pune. He disseminates the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir through shibirs, daily kriyas, discourses, and extensive publication efforts. Pujya Arunvijayji Maharaj is especially known for his distinctive teaching method using blackboard illustrations, through which he presents complex Jain concepts with clarity using simple visual diagrams. He conducts four virtual classes daily in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, covering topics such as Ayurveda, Aagam Shastra, Jain Metaphysics, and Karma Theory. Through his unique pedagogical approach, discourses, and writings, he has guided and inspired seekers for over 57 years. Today, through virtual platforms, his teachings reach seekers worldwide, spreading Bhagwan Mahavir’s eternal message of Ahimsa (non-violence), Anekantavada (multiplicity of viewpoints), and Aparigraha (non-possession).
